October 2024

Dear Families and Visitors,

As we enter the Fall and Winter months the threat of Covid-19 and other respiratory illnesses such as flu still follows us. The facility continues to offer vaccinations to our residents during this time. Please reach out to our Infection Preventionist or our Director of Nursing with any questions or concerns you have regarding the vaccination process.

Also, we encourage all visitors contact their medical professional regarding the benefits of receiving the vaccines themselves. Vaccinations help prepare your body to defend itself from viruses and severe illness.

As the season progresses our staff will be monitoring the level of respiratory illness in the community. We ask that you follow any guidance posted in the facility or staff requests regarding measures to be followed to prevent the spread of infection.

We ask all families and friends who are planning a visit to defer the visit, if you are feeling ill or have been in contact with someone who has the flu or Covid-19. This precaution will minimize the risk of spreading any type of respiratory illness in the facility.

When you visit, there may be times when you will be asked to wear source control (face masks) or additional personal protective equipment. We ask you practice good hygiene by covering coughs and sneezes and washing or sanitizing your hands often. Putting physical distance between yourself and others can also help lower the risk of spreading a respiratory virus.

The facility will post signage at the facility entrance and throughout the facility regarding infection control practices in place. If you have any questions regarding these practices, a member of our nursing team will be happy to answer any questions.

We realize these practices may be inconvenient but our number one priority is to protect our Residents, Family Members and Staff Members. We ask for your understanding as we progress through what we expect to be a challenging respiratory illness season.

Thank you for the opportunity to care for your loved one. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or a member of our clinical team.

Thank you,

Chris Correll
