William is an 80-year-old married man with four children. William had a fall and broke his right ankle. The broken ankle that he obtained brought him back to Applewood for his second stay in the facility.
Treatment and Plan:
The plan was for William to stay at Applewood for six weeks of rehabilitation. He participated in both physical and occupational therapy 5 times per week during his stay. William had to obtain another surgery while in the facility but he remained motivated to complete his rehab.
Results:
The beginning of William’s journey was not the easiest. He was unable to bear any weight on his right leg. He was always a willing student and followed directions perfectly. Due to his hard work and dedication, William was able to complete his therapy program. On May 10, 2014, William returned home, able to walk, with his loving wife.
Resident’s Feedback:
I had caring treatment by staff during my second visit at Applewood. I completed six weeks of physical and occupational therapy due to a bone fracture in 2014. Thanks to the staff and director of Applewood, I was able to return home walking within 2 months after my injury.
